Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 27, 2026 — Last updated: March 27, 2026

Aethvra (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates aethvra.com and the Aethvra platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Aethvra, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, password (hashed), role (startup, investor, creator, expert, or freelancer), and any profile details you choose to provide such as bio, location, links, and profile photo.

Content you create

Posts, comments, messages, campaign details, job listings, documentary content, and other material you publish or submit on the platform are stored and associated with your account.

Usage and technical data

We automatically collect IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referral URLs, and timestamps when you interact with the platform.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store raw card numbers. We retain transaction records (amount, date, status) and Stripe customer IDs for billing and dispute resolution.

Communications

If you contact us by email or through the platform, we retain those communications to respond to your request and improve our support.

AI features

If you use AI-powered features and choose to provide your own OpenAI API key, that key is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and is never shared with third parties outside of forwarding your own requests to OpenAI.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Aethvra platform and its features.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account session.
  • Deliver notifications, emails, and in-platform alerts relevant to your activity.
  • Process payments and manage your wallet balance and transaction history.
  • Connect you with other users (startups, investors, collaborators) based on your role and activity.
  • Respond to support requests, abuse reports, and legal inquiries.
  • Detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the security of the platform.
  • Generate aggregated, anonymised analytics to understand usage trends.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising networks or data brokers.

3. Information Sharing

With other users

Profile information, posts, and content you mark as public are visible to other Aethvra users according to your privacy settings. Direct messages are only visible to the intended recipients.

With service providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers strictly to operate the platform: Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI features, only when you invoke them), Resend / SMTP providers (email delivery), and Render.com (hosting and infrastructure).

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aethvra, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

If Aethvra merges, is acquired, or sells substantially all of its assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users via email or a prominent notice on the platform before data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your authenticated session and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

You can configure your browser to reject or delete cookies, but doing so may prevent the platform from functioning correctly.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g., financial transaction records for up to 7 years) or where data has been aggregated and anonymized.

Content you published that was shared with or interacted on by other users (e.g. reposts, comments) may remain in a deidentified or deleted state visible only as “[Deleted user]”.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: You can view and update most of your profile information directly in Settings.
  • Data export: Contact us at aethvra.inc@gmail.com to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Account deletion: You may delete your account from Settings. Deletion is irreversible.
  • Opt-out of emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or adjust notification preferences in Settings.
  • Do Not Track: We honour browser-level Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, JWT-based session management with short-lived access tokens and 30-day refresh tokens, and AES-256 encryption for sensitive stored secrets. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Aethvra is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we learn we have done so, we will delete that data promptly. Contact us if you believe we have inadvertently collected a minor's data.

9. International Transfers

Aethvra operates globally. Your data may be stored and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-platform notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
